I want to create a perfect image. I've been trying for it since I was young, when I would wait with anticipation for a roll of film to return from development. My earliest forays into video production, with my dad's camera and two VCRs, were hardly perfect either. But trying has been my passion, and it's what drove me to start Moon Lake Multimedia in 2006. The name comes from a short story I wrote in high school, which was also an attempt at capturing an image.

Primarily, I'm a natural light photographer based in Minneapolis/St. Paul, specializing in events and live performances. I also take portraits, produce promotional videos, touch up sketches for publication, and write stuff.

One project of mine involved creating a 45-minute video synchronized to a rock band's live performance. It played one night only, projected behind the band in a sold-out auditorium. I poured all of my drive and vision into that piece, and it—along with a great performance by the band—made for an unforgettable concert.

I enjoy a challenge and working with other creative people. I'm inspired by the smiles of my kids, classic films, the allure of the west coast, music, and sometimes just a ray of light through the window.
